Scoring is usually done via a table, with each item being given a maximum number of points to attain. The items are then judged against what would be a perfect specimen within their usual class. In the case of a tie, the entry with the most 1st places will be awarded the higher prize.
Display classes are also judged in a similar way – where a number of different items are placed together to make a pleasing display.
